Jeff Nugent is a seasoned healthcare and consumer industry leader with a record of building, scaling, and turning around companies across medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and consumer health. As President and CEO of PhaseOne Health, he drives the company’s mission to lead in surgical infection prevention and next generation wound care innovation.
Jack Fisher, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Jack Fisher is a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon who serves as Medical Director for PhaseOne Health. He brings decades of clinical experience from the Mayo Clinic and Vanderbilt University, where he specialized in reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery, microsurgery, and wound healing research.
Roger Wixtrom, PhD
Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Roger Wixtrom is a board-certified toxicologist and Chief Scientific Officer at PhaseOne Health. With over 35 years of experience in medical device safety, preclinical and clinical study design, and regulatory presentations, he brings unmatched expertise in biocompatibility and infection control science.

Before joining PhaseOne, Jeff served as Chairman and CEO of Sientra, Inc. publicly traded company, guiding its turnaround and growth within the aesthetic and reconstructive surgery sector. His leadership includes 25 years at Johnson & Johnson, where he led the acquisition and transformation of Neutrogena into the #1 dermatologist-recommended skincare brand. He later served as President and CEO of Revlon and co-founded Precision Dermatology, acquired for over $500M. Jeff holds a B.S. in Mathematics and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Loyola University Chicago and served as a U.S. Army officer with assignments at the Pentagon and CIA.

Medical Director
Dr. Fisher has authored or co-authored more than 85 peer-reviewed publications and helped pioneer technologies to evaluate wound healing in experimental and clinical models. He has served as president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and is an active member of multiple U.S. and international surgical societies. His expertise in infection prevention and tissue repair directly supports PhaseOne’s innovation and clinical direction. Dr. Fisher earned his M.D. from Emory University and completed surgical residencies at George Washington University and Emory University.

Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. Wixtrom has contributed to the evaluation of numerous implantable devices and served as a scientific advisor to the FDA, Health Canada, and the Institute of Medicine. His research into surface microbial contamination and its role in post-surgical complications has advanced industry understanding of infection mechanisms and prevention. He regularly lectures worldwide on emerging data in implant safety, biomaterials, and infection control.

Cole began his career in brand strategy before transitioning into medical device distribution, where he partnered with hospitals and surgeons on adoption pathways. At PhaseOne, he supports cross-functional growth initiatives across sales, marketing, and logistics. He holds a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Florida.

Cole Dalton leads Commercial Operations for PhaseOne Health, driving initiatives in marketing, distribution, and market adoption. He brings frontline experience from medical device distribution and high-growth startups, translating commercial strategy into field execution.
Dan Carlisle
Lead Advisor - Operations & Product Innovation
Dan Carlisle is a senior advisor to PhaseOne Health, bringing over 35 years of leadership in medical device development, manufacturing, and innovation. He has held key roles at Sientra, Inamed/Allergan, Silimed, and McGhan Medical, guiding product innovation and regulatory strategy.
Melissa McElwee, MA
Senior Manager, Clinical Affairs & Commercial Development
Melissa McElwee manages clinical affairs and commercial development for PhaseOne Health, bridging scientific evidence and business growth. With 17 years of experience in toxicology, pathology, and regulatory research, she plays a key role in aligning clinical validation with commercial execution.

Dan’s expertise spans GMP compliance, FDA submissions, and ASTM standards for medical devices. He has authored multiple patents related to device design and manufacturing processes and remains active in advancing product quality through ASTM and FDA training programs.

Senior Manager, Clinical Affairs & Commercial Development
Prior to joining PhaseOne, Melissa worked with Pfizer Global R&D, where she ensured quality and compliance across clinical and preclinical programs. She now leads clinical collaborations, investigator-initiated studies, and the expansion of PhaseOne’s Medical Advisory Board. Melissa earned her MA in Biology from Brown University and a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut.
